YEP

YEP is a choreographic game for two dancers utilising a phrase of 120 movements and variable starting points. Over a nominated duration ie between 1 - 4 hours they aim to start sections of the phrase at the same time without any prior agreement. They say YEP to start, YEP if they are in sync (they then keep going) and if not, they say NO and stop. A sound score starts and stops in relation to their cues. 8 video cameras record the event and reinterpret the action through varied delays of playback projected onto a screen outside the room. Through a system of determined un-determinacy an intimate and intricate performance/installation is created around notions of trust, order and perfection within the spatial dynamics of the room.
