Extreme cases aside...I strongly believe, based on personal experience and many others....social anxiety is totally treatable to the point where you easily chat, pick or sex any girl who let you. Social anxiety is baseless fear, totally ridiculous (it is not like you would hurt really) therefore more humiliating, hence the low self esteem. It is catch 22 situation but easily breakable once you stop worrying of being humiliated. I bet my balls on that.

SAD is like Asthma, incurable but treatable. There are Olympic athletes that have asthma, the same equivalent could be said for people with SAD. They might have extremely high self esteem and speaking skills but the disease still remains, they are only suppressing it.

  • @MrDanielBowman74 Its not curable but is treatable with both medication and or cognitive therapy. Some forms of SAD can be anything from mild to severe, it's really completely based on the person suffering. The majority of sufferers seem to have trouble in dealing with normal social situations and may often avoid them altogether in order to escape what they perceive as an embarrassing experience. The person suffering also tends to have low self esteem and suffer from states of depression.

Sounds horrible and surely it is. It is quite possible that it is indeed incurable chemical imbalance. But it is also possible that it is not. Let me warn you....ego will tell you anything to continue it's existence. It will tell you that it is incurable disease to protect You...or it is what it thinks. In reality it is protecting itself and making your life miserable in process. You get laughed at, ego creates anxiety not to experience it again and U locked in your own prison

  • Just lie.

Imagine the anxiety you feel before you are about to make a big speech in front of many people. That's what it feel like every minute of every day for many sufferers of Social Anxiety Disorder or (SAD). Self humiliation and mind numbing pain, it's absolutely horrible and as far as the science surrounding it is concerned, incurable. Simple things like buying groceries and making phone calls now become the equivalents in anxiety as life or death situation. For Christs Sake!!!

Social anxiety is a disease, a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes the flight or fight response to become hyperactive. It's not something that you can simply dismiss as "ego", it's a serious and hellish disease that effect millions of people all around the world. It is a disease so serious that it can prevent one from living life normally. You are completely ignorant of the gravity of this disorder, I suggest you read up on it before making such ignorant statements.

  • @MisterHeizenberg

It is absolutely OK to experience anxiety when you are being chased by a bear. That's why we have the anxiety capacity in us. However having anxiety about future hazy things is your ego in work. So I guess one have an ego when experiencing anxiety in the form of fear of rejection etc. Do not think that when you are humble and nice that you don't have the ego. Quite the opposite. It is just another manifestation of ego - arrogance and self-pity come from the same source.

  • @MrDanielBowman74

What if you don't have an ego yet experience anxiety?
