Ancestry: NSW Free Settlers 1826-1922

For over a century millions of free settlers spent months at sea on their journey to Australia. They came for many reasons -- to join convict relatives, to own homes and land for the first time, to find gold, escape established class systems, poverty and over crowding. Alongside the convicts they became the workforce which created modern Australia and turned a colony into a country. They were adventurous, forward thinking, hard working and ambitious. Sound familiar?
