Please leave comments and feedback on what YOU feel is the correct call on those two plays.
Keep in mind folks, that this was a championship AT UH (University of Houston). It was between two teams so both teams would be considered representing UH.
the game before this one, a player on FSA was hit in the head, which he turned into, and he stayed in. the other player from the other team was called out.
if the FSA players had gone out when they were hit, these instances would not have happened.. i was there watching the entire thing. FSA did not go out when they were hit, and it created this debacle. get the facts straight next time.
in instance 2, the ball was not caught by the second player. the second player tried to catch the short hop, but missed that as well. since the ball hit the ground first, he is not out. i must also note that the player on FSA was never called out. secondly, a ball was caught by another player after the player was hit in the head, allowing him to stay in regardless of the call.
i also want to note that this video doesn't show the players from FSA not going out when they were hit beforehand.
not getting eliminated after gettin hit in the head or face is the dumbest rule ever...thats why its called dodgeball..if you dont wanna catch one to the face get the fuck outta the way..fuck UH rec officials..they dont know how to earn their paychecks
thanks for everyones replies it was bad reffing. they wouldnt watch our video footage... then when everyone is bitching time runs out... this was the very last round it was sudden death only a minute long. so basically whatever happened here was the game. we just wanna show who the actual winners of this IM dodgeball tournament.
Not at all... Instance 1 kid got hit in the upper chest area, like left pec... not at all in the face.
Instance 2... if the other kid had caught it before the ball hit the ground it is a catch...But i believe that he missed the catch and it took a minute bounce into his hands and he came up with it like he caught it....
dude Instance #1 was totally obvious. he definitely got hit in the face. Goes to UH
Instance #2 he dropped the ball so therefore it doesnt not count as a catch. and after that guy was his teammate tried to catch it but im not sure he did. but if he did catch it. it wouldnt make a difference because it wouldnt count as a catch and his teammate would still be out. so that goes to UH.
#2, the second attempt to catch the ball, it grazed his fingertips. Why should the FSA get called out?

At what time in the video were the FSA player(s) hit?

#1 was hit, but a ball was caught afterwards, so he was allowed to stay in regardless of the call.
#2, the first guy was called out who missed it, AND the player from FSA was never called out

it didnt hit his head. if he was hit at his head, his head would have performed the reflex, but instead his chest responded. >.>

#1 dude got hit legitimately in the upper chest area just missing the face...UH gets that...
#2 ball was never caught, both attempts failed so UH gets that ...but the first guy to attempt catching it, i think would be out.
