horrible technique.... plus your rating only like 31... you break you knees to early.
Pick it up... no heart.
Im 14 and I got 6:35 in 2k erg.... 3 seconds off NZ Record.

Pretty good, but you need to bring your hands in front befor you bend your knees more. There are six points of connection.

try using your back more to get more reach. and on your recovery make sure that your arms are out first before your legs start to bend. streching your back will fix all of these problems

Establish a catch angle with your body before coming up the slide. It has to be a pivot from the hips. That prevents you from hitting your knees with the handle.

you aren't that bad, the one thing you might want to work on is going legs then back and THEN arms instead of arms throughout the whole stroke

The guy next to you has pretty good technique; his recovery is better than yours. Notice how he extends his arms and tilts his back forwards before he breaks his knees. Also note how he reaches forward more at the catch.

Thats a useful tecnic for someone who is not a rower. Your leg and armwork is strong. Try bending your hips a little more when you prepare for a new stroke, so u get your upper body closer to your knees. This way you get som more lenght in the front of your stroke, and you should be abel to get some more speed. Good luck!

try to sit on the front, not the back of ur ass.
By sub 11 sprinter I assume you mean in the 100 meter dash. Very good endurance for a sprint type, though I bet you have far more impressive 500s.

Actually, it's sub 11s in the 200m time trial cycling. I have no idea how I would do as a runner. I did a 25.5 in the 500 this year, which probably isn't too bad for a 40 year old non-rower. Thanks

Your power is good and your posture is ok, but you'd be able to shave 10-12 seconds off your time if you emphasized your legs more. You need to work on your hamstring flexibility and lean forward through the drive so that you can move the handle with your leg muscles and give your back and arms a break.

Thanks for your comment. That pretty much summarizes the feedback I've received from my rowing friends. My background is in cycling, and my rowing experience is minimal, but I'll work with a coach next winter and see whether I can bring the times down a bit. I do particularly well in the 500 (which mirrors the intensity and time of the events in which I specialized in bike racing).
