@movieman925 What I understand here is, you buy a new Mac with Mac OS X Lion pre installed on it and transfer your stuff (which basically means settings, personal Data and Compatible Applications) from your existing Mac, now the New Mac which is Lion preinstalled on it, you don't need to worry about installing latest version of Migration Assistant on it, but the Mac that you already have, which I hope is running Snow Leopard, on that you would just need to run Apple Update,& do updates as usual.

@deepsukhwani but what if i just buy a brand new mac with lion on it, can i transfer my stuff from when i have the set up thing going on when it asks u, "do u already own a mac" will it al ready have the migration assistant update on the new one

@movieman925 Yeah it does through Migration Assistant Application in utilities section, the only thing you require is that, you have to make sure both the computers are running same version of Migration Assistant, which basically mean you upgraded the migration assistant on your mac Running Snow leopard through apple's software update as well as on your mac running lion, on the mac running lion, you should have updated migration assistant before you even installed lion just like this video shows

Does this update basically allow u to transfer all ur personal info settings and applications from snow leopard on one Mac to a new Mac with lion on it?

@movieman925 Haven't tried yet, I would suggest trying posting queries on some popular Mac forums or on Apple Discussion.
I think it does, as I see on the Migration Assistant in Utilities on my Mac with Lion, it says "You can use Migration Assistant to transfer user accounts, applications, computer settings and files from one Mac to Another or from a PC to a Mac", now because it doesn't say anything like Snow Leopard or Lion, I would guess it would work perfectly fine.
Cheers ! :)
