This footage was transferred over from 8mm film. In this clip you will see the Dominion Atlantic Railway, the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Princess of Acadia I and the demolition of our Train Station. The footage dates between the 1950's, early 1970's in Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Thanks to a National Archival Development Program through Library & Archives Canada, and administrated by the Canadian Council of Archives, the Admiral Digby Museum was able to have our Frank Robinson Film Collection transferred to a digital format.

  • Glad you enjoyed our train footage. Perhaps, sometime in the future, we might be able to post-up more footage and we'll see what we can do regarding DAR mixed trains.

  • I would recommend that you create an expanded version of this and sell them on DVD. There are many of us that have an interest in the DAR. Could also be a fundraiser for the museum.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I've been living in Digby since the day I was born, and never once saw any of these trains for myself. At the age of 4 my interest in trains began, and never really stopped. I've heard of these trains a lot from my Gramma and Mum, so it makes me really happy to finally see what they were talking about.

Thank you so much for putting up this video, it means so much more than you could imagine. :)

  • Great footage. Thanks for posting.

  • Great video. Do you have any video of DAR operations? I would really like to sometime see video of DAR mixed trains M21/M22

  • Fantastic - great memories Thanks for posting

  • PRICELESS!!! Thank you for putting this on, as i have seen pictures of this wonderful railway, but never saw it before it was too late in 1990

  • Great locomotives. Cool to see the Digby my Mom knew. I grew up there in the 80's and 90's.
