We've sound tested the M4-SD on 10.5" barrels and found the average to be approximately 140DB. The task on the day this video was shot was to test it on a 14.5" barrel. We found the 14.5" results to be nearly the same. I believe the peak on the 14.5" barrel is shorter in duration to the peak on the 10.5" barrel, because the 14.5" gun with the M4-SD sounds more quiet.

  • I don't know that much about video. If my camera was turned up the sky would be clear and the ground would be dark. If the camera was pointed down we could see the ground and shooter, but the sky would appear washed out. The best way to change this would be to shoot from the right side rather than toward the greatest light, but then we would not be on the meter side... so it's problematic at best.

  • It's tough catching suppressors on video, but this video does a nice job...did your video camera get it's automatic gain control turned off?
