In addition, turbo tends to cause small engines not only to consume a lot more fuel but to wear out faster (cracked manifolds, burned seals, etc).
The Mitsubishi naturally aspirated engine in the 2008 fortwo produces about twice the horsepower (76) compared to the 2006 with the Mercedes engine (40).
