A New Kurdish War

November 1992 A report on the PKK, or Kurdish Workers' Party, from the town of Kulp in eastern Turkey.
Two Turkish soldiers were shot by Kurdish separatists and the Turkish army retaliated with a massive show of strength. The Turks have found unlikely allies in the form of Iraqi Kurds who fear the PKK's Marxist philosophy. But the PKK is determined not to be pushed out of the mountains. Under attack from two sides and the Turkish army has strengthened its grip on the mountains.
