This an outstanding buy! Compare it to the far more common 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar; they are pretty much the same price.

Thanks and appreciation to:

  • Those are great coins! I have recently purchased several of those. Also, I have been aquiring several different commerative half dollar coins. Booker T., San Deigo, Oregon Trail etc...

    Great video! Thanks!

  • @lowpross11 Yes, I like them a lot too. I can't believe how crazy cheap you can get them considering their age and relative rarity when you compare them to much more common 90% silver halves.

I just got my first Carver/Washington the other day. Very cool.

In our lifetimes we may very well see a hefty numismatic premium on coins such as these. Not counting on it, but it is very possible.

  • Thanks Petros! Back at you brother.

All you do is appreciated more than you can imagine. Thank you for YOUR work in opening up eyes and minds!

  • I'm very glad to have you as friend. The other two you mentioned are really great too! I like having a mix of numismatics and bullion, numismatics can produce some nice perks.

  • @acuriousbeast Thanks acb :)

I feel like the "cheap" numismatic coins that I talked about are the one indulgence that's clearly healthy and beneficial. You don't pay much over melt for them, and you get to hold some pretty cool history in your hand.

If you like these Columbus halves, try looking for the 1892s over the 1893s, as there are only 2/3 as many of the 1892s as there are 1893s. If both are going for about the same price, might as well get the best bang for your buck!

  • your so right on 90% junk, that,s me but I did buy 13 of those coins really 12 of them and one booker t washington for $13 apiece, and they were in such great shape that another coin dealer at the same flea market offered me up to $30 for some of them and 25 for the rest but I kept them, I also got some varriety iof kooks for $3 over spot and they,re worth from $85 to 125 because of the condition any years. Other wise its all mercs which I got 4,000 of at the same place over the summer.

  • I couldn't reply to your reply to my original comment. That was the second time today that's happen on a vid. This vid made me curious about the Columbian Exposition stamps. It turns out they were the first commemorative stamps issued by the US Postal Service. They even had a picture of your coin on the page. Some of those stamps were pricey! Thousands.

  • @SilverLadyBug999 Sure...hope you are getting nice weather. I'll be watching a lot of Australian Open soon!
