I'm assuming that since you're reading this that you like beer. And, if you like beer, you probably want to do a better job of enjoying your beer. Well, If you are looking to improve your appreciation of beer I might have just the "tool" you need.

I recently got the Beer Tasting And Hops Appreciation Kit from TasteYourBeer.com. This kit is basically a collection of hops (13 different varieties) that you use while tasting beer to learn what hops are in the beer. The kit also comes with some good information on the brewing process as well as the differences between the various hop varieties. If you want to order a kit for yourself please visit the blog at www.videobeerreviews.com and click on the image near the top of the sidebar.

  • If you need to be proffessionally taught how do enjoy the taste of something, doesn't that imply that the "something" doesn't taste very good to begin with?

  • @conman2317 No, not at all. This kit is to help you improve your ability to detect the various hop profiles. A beer can taste or smell fantastic but that doesn't mean you can identify what is making that way. Thanks for watching.

  • Just curious: What are your favorite/worst beers? I'm drinking a Sam Adams Irish Red right now. Very nice. The worst Sam Adams is the Blackberry Witbeer.

  • My favorite beers are, in no particular order, Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch, Girardin Gueze, Duvel, and Redhook Double Black Stout. I like IPA's and Stouts more than other styles right now but I think once I have some more Belgian beers that could change. The worst beer I've ever had was "Scotch Buy" back in 1983 (it was the Safeway store brand). Natural Ice was pretty bad as well.

  • You...are...a...total...beer...GEEK! Scared of the rain...man, that was hilarious. Thanks.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. It rained VERY hard right after I got off the deck. I think we got over 1/2 inch in 15 minutes or so! As for the geek part, I have to agree with you, I do like pretty much all things beer.

  • I think he must be on a commission from beerhopswhatever it is

  • Theres more to beer than the hops, there are bittering hops and aroma hops and grain. Mr Fuggles lived just down the road from me (long time ago mind). You seem pretty keen on beer, go and make your own. You will beat them hands down. I've travelled from to Texas for the Dixie Cup and know my beer. Make your own man, you are wasted judging other peoples. If you know hops and are that keen you should go all grain and brew. Subsonic (drinking a pure Fuggles Best Bitter in Kent England)

  • Reading the label helps with a lot of beers, but not all. This kit is just one more thing people can use, if they want, to help them. It's definitely not a requirement to enjoy good beer, just a tool.

  • Oh I would totally get it from your site when I'm ready. Good luck!
