I also know Sofonisba Anguissola
There were many more very talented female painters, but men of these times didn't accept their paintings as art and lots of paintings didn`t become poular.

@honorthehawkins If i remeber art history of my country well.
I know few only italian woman painter during XVI century, the Anguissola sisters Sofonisba and Lucia. The first died a very old age, more than 90 years old, and 75 years of painting career.

"Are we rolling down hill like a snowball that's headed for hell" Do we now deserve favor from our Lord seeing that we now desire $ & power & respect from other nations over his mercy & grace? er...wheres all the ladies of renaissance art then??? i ask because all those paintings are by renaissance men, not ladies.

I can only think of one woman painter during the Renaissance--Artemisia gentileschi. Do you know of any others? I wish they were more renaissance women PAINTERS but mostly there are only renaissance women SUBJECTS.
