Tgi3D plugins for Google SketchUp introduces the new smart texturing feature that enables you to easily create, seamlessly merge and paint image textures on smooth curved surfaces, while keeping existing image textures. The produced texture images can be accessed from Sketchup's Materials window and edited with your favourite image editor.

  • @Zinlencer You probably used set-image-texture from SketchUp after preparing the texture (common pitfall). Instead you should in-place edit the texture image. If you still have problems you can contact the support.

  • I tried it and it failed. In sketchup the texture wasn't in the right position.

  • @legacyfound

The hard part in texturing is uv-mapping (telling SketchUp where each vertex will be mapped in the picture). As a small easy texture mapping utility (other tools are much more complex), we prepare an initial texture (indicating what is mapped where), then the user basically uses an image editor to modify the initial (guidance) image to the desired texture image. Please contact Tgi3D support if you need further assistance.

  • Despite following your video for past two hours, I am completely lost.. I'm using sketchup ver. 7.1 on a mac sys 10.6 something.

First you create a texture then you add a paint surface to it then you add another painted surface . Cannot get imported painted surface to lay on smoothly ti reframes for each triangulated surface on the form , whaaa?

  • @dlocalhost Yes, you can.

  • Thanks, great source, can I use this plugin for my own made smooth faces?
