On November 2, Sukh Dhaliwal, MP delivered this statement in the House of Commons:

Sikhs across this country and around the globe are celebrating the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji today, the founder of the Sikh religion, who teaches us that all humanity is one.But let us also take note of another date, 25 years ago, when pogroms began in Delhi, targeting Sikh homes and businesses.

India has come a long way since then. Yet for all of us, who care about human rights around the world, lets remind ourselves we must remain vigilant in regard to human rights violations. In a world more connected than ever before, we can stand together and ensure such acts will be a thing of the past.
