Finally got my system to co-operate with my screen recording software, I was having issues before trying to record my mic and DAW's at the same time but was having no luck. So far, Reason is the only thing I have that will work but not to worry- I'll figure it out.

Anyways, this is basically a short tutorial on how to make a sweep crash right from scratch, very useful for hip-hop/dance/techno/electro and whatever. Also gives you some experience with Reason's Thor Synthesizer which can look daunting at first.

I'm taking any Reason tutorial requests (PM me or comment), but I'll let you know when Cubase is up and running again!

  • dude I can't record from my system either man, how did you do it? I have tried a lot of things like going back to xp, using an interface, also a program that is supossed to act like a sound card and overide any issues but nothing has helped, any suggestions?

  • @robd510 Unfortunately the only way I've been able to get around it is to set the driver in my music software to WDM driver instead of ASIO. Try it out.

  • Sounds like somethin wiz would rap to, nice and good tutorial.

  • @TipsiGypsi haha, you have no clue how many people have told me that. Thanks bro.

  • I love this beat

  • How do you create the opposite sound, like basically that in reverse so that it builds up?

  • @Smatchimo I ended up getting something pretty damn cool by increasing the attack a bunch, worked perfect, and if i needed the sweep-in to be any longer i would have had to automate the volume to come in so it was more gradual but for the temp / amount of measures i was using, it was great! thanks for the tutorial!

  • @dangerale If I were to put a bunch of attack on this could i get a rising sweep eventually? ive got some knob twiddlin to do it looks like....

  • @TipsiGypsi exactly what I was thinking. I could just hear his voice all over this track I love it.

  • @dangerale Damn dude you got talent.
