Bose stuff is junk but it sells well because people are idiots.

Thanks for the lesson in Bose Audio. I must say, nothing makes an intelligent argument so compelling as your interesting adaptation of spelling and grammar and those awesome hi-res images.

Try my audio company Nose. It has highs and lows, and doesn't sound like a blocked Bose

this guy is like ron paul, has no facts to support what he says

Actually, people are commonly stupid. About certain subjects, anyway. It doesn't sound better to them, they aren't given to proper processes of research and comparison. There are many people who have bought into the bogus image surrounding BOSE, only to be confronted with a demonstration of systems costing similar amounts and practically weeping about it.
Welcome to the open forum. BOSE is a false idol, and the argument is GOING to be made for the consumer's sake.

The other thing that's annoying about Bose is they use poetry for statistics. They might describe a system.
Power output: An earth shattering amount, besides it's the quality that's important
Frequency response: From the lowest of rumbles to the highest crispest sparkliest thing you can hear (small print: if you're over 80)
What if I wanted a Lifestyle 48 for a 30' by 40' room and then found it had about 5 watts per channel with a 20 watt sub, and abysmal speaker efficiency?

I do quite like the sound of Bose products but I wouldn't call it super high quality. I think they should slash their prices by at least 80%. The Lifestyle 48 is like £2500 and doesn't even have tweeters! lol

Soundtrack to this vid clipped and distorted. Cool!

You're giving the average consumer waaay to much credit for sense. People are seduced by the image and marketing of BOSE. And the environments in which BOSE are presented are carefully contained and controlled. BOSE aren't just mediocre for the money. They're mediocre. In the broad field of listening, they're stand up to some knockabout system from a mid range dealer.
But my Dali's rape any BOSE speaker in the ears.

@thingsdemystified - It's a matter of taste, preference, and experience, I bought the Bose portable Sounddock about 2 weeks ago, and I also bought the Altec Lansing Mix iMT 810- and the Altec lansing has much better sound, better bass, better highs. and also the Bose Sounddock sounded tinny, and the dock did not work well on the Bose, so the SoundDock was returned. Maybe Bose's other products are better than this Sounddock - for $400 US dollars, was Bose SD was definitely not worth it.
I think the people bashing these Bose systems don't realize the consumer perspective of "sound quality".
Consumers don't care that a speaker setup is "100% true to the audio source". They demand speakers that deliberately sculpt the sound to improve the perceived clarity and give it a "realistic" sound signature, and in my opinion the Bose systems deliver very well in that regard.

@slickis82 then why pay for more if you "don't cace if it's 100% true to the source)? I guess thats why wilson Audio and other companies are allowed to build speakers out of ecessive materials and sell them for exhorbant mounts of money. Just so some prick can show off his wealth. but still listens to britney spears.
