Lotus Exige S with Simon Pagenaud

Simon is a very top race car driver and he has signed to race for Sam Schmidt Motorsports for the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series. That team, owned by former racer and quadriplegic Sam Schmidt, will use power from a single Honda turbocharged V-6 engine.

Honda Performance Development's LMP driver Simon Pagenaud in France at Val de Vienne race track. HPD and Wirth Research modified the Courage LC75 into 2007's ARX-01a and 2008's great ARX-02b. Paolo Catone and Ben Wood designed the Courage LC75. Courage Competition was purchased by Oreca in September, 2007. Simon raced in the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans with Team Oreca Matmut's Courage-Oreca LC70 Judd, but Marcel Fässler had a crash near the Porsche Curves. Olivier Panis was the third driver. Oreca helped Mazda win the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans with the rotary-engined Mazda 787B with Dunlop tires. Oreca also helped develop the dominant Dodge Viper GTS-R race car in the 1990s which won hundreds of races around the world.

Simon raced for de Ferran Motorsports in 2008 and 2009. Gil de Ferran merged his team with Luczo Dragon Racing in 2010 to form De Ferran Dragon Racing. For the 2011 season, 2004 champion Tony Kanaan was signed on to drive the team's primary entry. However, after the team was unable to find sponsorship, de Ferran released Kanaan and the team shut down.

After closing its doors in February 2011, Jay Penske revived the team. A month later, he re-branded the team as Dragon Racing in April 2011.

Simon raced in the 2007 Champ Car World Series and tested with Creation Autosportif and Dunlop in early 2008 before signing with Gil de Ferran's LMP2 Acura team.

I hope anyone will be allowed to build their own indycar for the 2017 IZOD IndyCar Series.
