B-1s always...ALWAYS take off with AB. And I repeat, ALWAYS! They are using AB in this video.

Fascinating aircraft, isn't it? We live near a B-1 base and it's surprising how very quiet that huge machine can be when necessary ;) They take off all the time here w/o AB's (like in the vid) and the difference is massive.

never flown it, just sayin it will take off without them. Every plane with ab's can take off without them if conditions are right.

With a comment like that, you must know a lot about B-1s. Everytime I have taken off in a B-1, the burners were lite, and it wasn't for an airshow. -- I guess things have changed since 1993

yes it will take-off without the ab's. Just takes a bit more runway and 2nd segment numbers change, etc.

It flys just fine without burners but it can't get in the air without them.
