UTEP!

Texas Western was simply more talented ... quicker.
Better point guard in Hill ... and a superior post player in Lattin.

I think some people like to re-write history.
This game has turned into something far more significant than it actually was based on our politically correct society.
Kentucky played against a number of majority black teams that year.
Because blacks beat whites this game is infamous.
If Kentucky had won few people would remember it and certainly would not have drawn any racial conclusions.

When my friend picked UTEP out of the NCAA basketball pool and asked who are they? I told her that is the school that made history back in '66 when I was 15 years old. I am from Kentucky and I hated Coach Rupp. When Texas Western beat KY I was proud to have witnessed his defeat. I love KY now but not back in those days. Do you know what I mean?

Refs did a good job called a fair game. I didn't realize how pretty a shot Worsely had. In the movie he doesn't seem to be a factor. Cager, was incredibly athletic. What a cool team.
Wouldn't this be amazing to watch remastered...lol. Don Haskins gave us Black NCAA basketball players the least we can do is remaster it so we can see what he did clearer, lol.

I'm a close friend of a guy who is married to one of the cheerleaders of the 1966 team. He was given this tape in 1986 at the 20yr reunion. He asked me if I could put it on dvd and I did.

In the movie Glory Road, Haskins tells his team he will only be playing black players the day before the game. I know he started 5black players. But just wondering if he stuck to his promise of not playing any white players just for that game to make a statement?
