very nicely done video, near my old job an office building has an Otis winding drum elevator installed in 1906. Traveled up and down for 89 years before the motor needed rebuilding. You lucked out getting to see the "wheel" in the machine room. The Motor-Generator set changes incoming AC to DC for the hoist motor. Those traveling cables seen by the generator were thick and heavy. Top of the shaft, the sheave room (pulleys) which the hoist ropes run over down to the cab and counterweight. .
