Bachmann's carbon dioxide bit is a laugh riot. This is an issue wherein "good ol' fashion American common sense" might not be the best approach. Global warming is a little more complicated than that. How much does she owe fossil-fuel interests?

FitConnection, too much of anything can be lethal. Anthropogenic (man-made CO2) amounts to a mere fraction of the total CO2 produced. Evidence (ice core) has shown that CO2 lags temp increases. On top of that, a top scientist at the EPA just released a study showing that our planets temps peaked with El Nino in 1998 and have been decreasing since - even when CO2 has risen.
Do your research (from non-government funded studies) and you will understand what I'm talking about.

Apparently, nutbags like Bachmann don't realize that just about any gas, in the wrong proportions, can be lethal.
