The 4th Annual One Love Festival in Hampton Roads happened again on October 17, 2009 at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia, dedicated to promoting unity among all. It was a great evening, full of music, poetry and dance. After Saveras Anoia came the grooving and soulful Life Force Band for two hard Motown songs, the second the great hit "Dance to the Music" made famous by Sly & the Family Stone.

The One Love Festival Mission:
Awakened by violence in the world, we, of diverse backgrounds, religions, races, and cultures, see the need for more peace, tolerance, and understanding. We put our hands and hearts together through music, art, performance, and the spoken word. We seek common ground... a community united in hope, a planet restored and a peaceful world where every day will be One Love.
About Life Force:
The Life Force band ranges from professional to amateur musicians, coming together to form sounds that unite people of diverse backgrounds, religions, and philosophies as one. The band's goal is to connect people on a heart to heart basis, through the power of music. Both Life Force and the Walidanes work towards that same goal in unity.
Master session drummer Rick Mateo uses his experience to raise the bands talents to new levels. He founded the band with bassist Ed Kesler, guitarist Robin van Rign, and pianist Ebony Nichols, in October 2003. Singers Sharlene Cooke, Catherine Nichols, and Esmin Mateo joined the band at a later date. This culminated into what is now known to many as the Life Force band.
