Nice demo, thanks a lot, After the image is transfered onto fabric, do you need to seal it, or heat set w/an iron to keep the ink in, so when washing the fabric the image won't come out?? Also, can this method be done on Silk material?
Nope. Once it's dry it's set. But hand wash at your own peril... The acrylic medium could become gummy if washed in a machine and end up damaging either other clothing/fabrics, sticking back on itself or your machine. SO if you are planning on making this a wearable project, I'd advise a test print first and hand wash to test durability.
Thanks very much. One last thing, Where do you purchase the Apollo transparency, and the Kroma?? I would like to try this on silk. Do you think it will work.
Another question on the Apollo paper. Can I use the Apollo Quick Dry? It's a bit more reasonably priced than the one you recommend. Also, if I am unable to find the one you recommend, do you have another brand you like? Is the sensing strip important? Thanks, Susan
The key to this is the type of transparency. I use ONLY Apollo Inkjet transparencies and an Epson Durabrite INKJET printer. I suspect that the transparency, if printed at Kinkos, was printed using a laser printer or toner based copier in which case, will NOT work with this technique. This technique is for INKJET prints only. Try again with an inkjet print and you should have more success.
