Wow ....one of my pet pieves . During the era of the Great Depression , unions were developed to use leverage for working folks who were treated unfairly by companies . The concept of unions was a great thing IMO .
Like so many other organizations that weild power , Unions became corrupt .

With few exceptions ,. they remain corrupt and blur the boundry of organized crime . You can see this everyday . UAW granted 17.5 % of a public company Local 3 employees in NYC vandalizing work done by non-union workers . Teachers unions threatening the welfare of our children if unrealistic budgets are not passed.

It could be time for a Reagen-esque handling of these unions . Air traffic controllers go on strike to shut down America's commerce and travel ?
You're all fired ! Go home with nothing

Usually it takes a national government to spend itself into a debt measured in the trillions. Yet it comes as little surprise that the same profligacy that pervades the corridors of federal power infects this country's 87,000 state, county and municipal governments and school districts. By 2013, the amount of retirement money promised to employees of these public entities will exceed cash on hand by more than a trillion dollars. Public Union Parasites Move To Bar California Bankruptcies

Outrageously overpaid California public union parasites have every intention of sucking the last drop of blood out every taxpayer.

Regardless of the cost to taxpayers, and even though their bloated benefit programs vastly exceed what the private sector gets, nothing will get in the union's way of protecting the overgenerous benefits they have, while still demanding more money from taxpayers, no matter what fiscal shape any of the cities are in because of those contracts.

California's public-employee retirement system stands in the most perilous condition, facing a half-trillion in unfunded liabilities. That's not surprising when you consider a California highway patrol officer can retire at age 50 and collect up to 90 percent of his salary for the rest of his life. According to the agency's website, a typical officer's pay will reach $109,147 after just five years on duty - an amount that can rise significantly with overtime benefits. That means a fit and healthy 50-year-old "retiree" who began work at age 20 would receive $98,232 a year from taxpayers for the rest of his life, and nothing prevents him from taking another government job to collect two paychecks. This form of double-dipping is rampant.

  • Three major factors that are responsible for ruining this country—–Unions, tenure, affirmative action.

  • @xxxxxxpimptaddyone Good video. It's sad that nobody seems to care about this. I am an ex NJ resident that had to move out because of the taxes. The state has become a union shit-land.

  • @dannydarias1 Gov Christie is gonna break the teachers union.

  • my last job wasn't union but I still got union type benefits. Work at another place if you don't liek owrking somwwhere. A restaurant couldn't afford union wages. Alos osme of the jobs aren't worth that. I mean janitors getitng over $20 an hour and people who wipe tables get that at some union jobs pffft

  • @MaddDogg81 I'm from BC, a restaurant worker and union supporter. If I was in a union I could hope for dental benefits after a year or so. I would never be denied a break(which is unlawful) I would never be treated unfairly. I would never be expected to work overtime for straight pay. Unions created a middle class. The middle class pays the majority of taxes. If you're unhappy with your lot in life, don't blame the guy who's doing a little better, blame the guy who could pay you more but won't

  • @jitterbug123boy Concur. I don't care much for unions, at all. Just wish there was more education about how unions work, that way people can make up their minds without being subjected to: "Unions steal from taxpayers!" and "Tea Partiers are Koch Fiends!"

  • Municipal cities are corrupt too.

  • This video is a pretty simplistic argument- its legitimate points are invalidated by the tenor of its attack. We're so hardened in our positions that there is no dialogue, only vitriol. That's never going to change anything. Let's have some legitimate back-and-forth about the merits and pitfalls of BOTH sides. That's democracy. Everything else is just noise.

  • @jackdonkeymagazine then you are lousy stinking communist, my grandparents fought your kind in Korea... The US is a Capitalist nation, if you don't like it, leave, go to Europe. Long live profit!!

  • public unions are just money laundering operations, say NO to public sector unions....no collective bargaining (extortion). No more being run by the thugs!!! The States are out of money!!! You can not consume MORE than you produce... think about it!!

  • We need to STOMP on teacher greed and hypocrisy.... and if they say "well screw you.. we'll go on strike"...letttt THEM!!!!! Let them become the pariah's of the community.. parents should SHOW their OUTRAGE at the teacher GREED..and union economic sedition. See Andy Stern Meets Chris (casey heynes) Christie the punisher on my channel

  • All you right wingers say is we are saving jobs yet killing jobs of our teachers, firemen and police forces because they don't want to raise taxes. Is there corruption in the unions? YES, but they at least fight for those who have no voice. Glenn Beck beware, I BELIEVE IN SOCIAL AND ECONOMY JUSTICE!!!
