This was or first time to attempt a Water Rocket Dragster Speed record. Details of the competition are available at www.wra2.org.

We needed to do two runs within a 2 hour windows from both ends of the course. The speed was determined by the time taken for the water rocket car to reach 150ft. The two times were averaged from both runs to provide a time.

Onboard and stationary videos of the run were taken. Virtualdub was used to step through the onboard videos frame by frame to determine the time taken to cross the 15-ft markers. Coloured Cups were placed on the side of the road at 10m intervals and 45.7m (150ft). Red cups every 10m, blue cups each 50m mark and a green cup at the 150ft mark.

Results for the speed runs were 1st Run - 4.94seconds, 2nd run 5.32 seconds - Average 5.13 seconds.
