@dusted04 IMO, I wouldn't use it in the loop. The benefit out of using something like an 808 or TS9, with a high gainer like a Recto, is smacking the front end of the preamp so its a different cut and feel. For boosting, you want to take the level on the pedal up higher, and the actual OD/dirt on the pedal lower. This way it tries to act like a clean boost rather than an OD, just juicing the preamp rather than adding a lot of dirt.

@venom16efa Thanks man ;)

@Erock503 hey mate
probably a stupid question
but would you recomend running a maxon od 808 in the loop of on e of these amps
or should you put it between the guitar and amp
im thinking of getting a 2010 dual rec and want to run the od in the loop so there is less switching to do when changing to clean sounds ?

@f2kflyer that's cos this dude know's what he's doing! plue the painkiller pickups are supertight and RULE.
i think the splawn blows this away,more clen and defined..the nitro cuts like a knife..imo..

@ENGL555 the Nitro does have a cleaner gain, but it can be hard to coax a lot of sizzle out of one. The Recto has a distinct grind to it, plus that topend, that seems to work really well on recordings. The Nitro can sound a bit dark on recordings. I love both amps live though, both can cut like a knife if eq'd for it.

you know this recto just kicked the splawn nitro's ass, don't you... :-)

@hevechvy haha, I wouldn't say that personally. They both sound great to me for different reasons. Still have the Nitro and Recto
