I feel sorry you Americans are trapped with your voting system. Parliamentary preferential voting is the best system. Your vote counts more! Its a lie one vote counts in any system like EnaraEternal said. But here in Australia if you vote for a, but he doesnt get in you can opt to have that vote go to c after that, then d and even candidate z. Or you can choose to kill your vote if your chocie doesnt get in. Hope Obama works out for you and doesnt screw the world wore than McCain would of!

if the person i want to win loses in my state by one single vote... then and only then will i regret not voting.

Sadly, everyone forgets about the Electoral College. I was preached at growing up that my vote counts. Teachers, parents, the government, etc. Then I went out and voted. The majority lost. Go figure that one out. Thank the useless electoral college because they make the real vote as to who the president will be, NOT you and I. We truly get no say. The electoral college makes our votes pointless. They vote for whoever the hell they please, regardless of what the majority in this 'democracy' want.
