It's a custom combo that can get you to 9999 being almost completely inescapable.

I'll list the attacks I used. A "---" between two attacks means it's inescapable, a "-/-" means it can be dodged (altough it's hard, obviously).

By the way, Galahad Dribble stands for an unblockable technique you can learn in my video section, and DC stands for "dodge cancel"

Galahad Dribble --- DC --- Round table --- DC --- Round table --- DC --- Round table --- DC --- High Bringer --- DC --- Jump High Bringer --- DC --- Bardiche --- DC -/- Chain Bump

And yes, for the naysayers, Round Table infinite IS inescapable, actually. If people dodge/block it too often, it's because you're doing the RT approach wrong. Try angling to the left.

  • Wait...did I JUST see Cloud being smashed into the ground and hit after that with Chain Bump? That means not only is that part just a tech-read, but capable of being dodged. You can refer to one of my videos having Sephiroth tech read me, then showing you can escape out of it (the window is small, but avoidable.)

Up until then though, nice work.

  • Yes, I know that part is avoidable :) In fact, you can see the "-/-" mark I put on that specific section of the attack string. It's still hard to dodge however, and since the risk is minimal, I can't see why you shouldn't follow up with it :)

  • I did a bit of testing, and there's now a huge risk involved if you do the second string. There's enough time for the foe to block as well...which is nasty for Garland.

Or it could be due to lag. I wouldn't know, but all my friends who tried it on me, I was able to get out (Garland mains mind you.)

  • What part are you talking about exactly?

I'm pretty sure than, except the Chain Bump part, the rest is inescapable. I've extensively tested it and got to that conclusion. Are your friends angling to the left when chaining round tables? That might be what they are doing wrong.

Either way, they might be trying to chain more than one low high bringer, which is also escapable, but as long as you only do one, you should be fine.

  • Try equiping the skill that gives you criticals when you block... it does massive damage as you saw in my video ^_^

  • Yeah, I have to revisit my whole skill set, I plan on equpping the "backstab-ish" skill, the skill that increases your crit during enemy attacks, and the one you mentioned :).

  • This proves that Garland has been knocking people down since 1988. Thanks man this helped.

  • I mean the chain bump part buddy. I know about the others being inescapable. ^_^

  • I have US version and can confirm that this works, my favorite is galahad dribble ->DC ->highbringer(non-jumpy) -> DC -> highbringer (jumpy and finish combo)

also galahad dribble, DC, tsunami gets em most times too!

LOVE this guy's garland guide on gamefaqs

  • is this even relevent for the english

  • Really? i'm pretty good with Garland and the opponent always dodges.

  • It does work in the US version.I've done it.And you only do it 3-4 times.Any more and you'll be yelled at =P

  • Well, the combo doesn't work in the US version, so you don't have to worry about this "lameness".

  • you act as if i told this person that he sucks at this game and he should throw it away. I just told my personal opinion that i thought it was a lame way to fight xD

  • I prefer to think of it as something to make things more interesting. Also, in the JP version(Garland has no infinite in the US version) Round Edge is fully blockable, thus making it unwise to "spam" this combo. If you don't want to do it, fine. Don't come down on people who DO like custom combos though.

  • i think it said it earlier, its a lame way to fight >.> spamming an endless chain kills the whole match. why make it a boring match ?

  • Does it occur to you to actually try it before getting dismissive?
