Improvisational Performance by Adishakti.

Ana Fin Intizarak by Oum Kalthoum
LYRICS

I'm waiting for you.
I kept my fire inside my ribs.
And I put my hand on my cheek
And counted by seconds your absence and you never came.

I wish - I wish I never fell in love.
I need to know if you are upset
Or if somebody else occupies your heart
From my hopelessness, you make me say.
The absence will continue forever
And I ask myself what did I gain
From my mistake. Only you are my problem

I wish - I wish I never fell in love.
I anguish on the hot part of the fire.
My brain is absent from concentration
With each breath I count your steps
With each little letter I count your conversations with me
I am in this mood morning and night.
And they saw me and they said I have become insane.

I wish - I wish I never fell in love.
You promised me by years and days
And you come to me with excuses and garbage words
Those words!!
(Say something different only nicer)
You come and shake my hand and leave quickly
Or you don't come and just say "I forgot."

  • Nice dance where is she from...?

  • Thank you very much. I am from Ontario, Canada.

  • Moving! Who is your inspiration for your dance style?

  • Thank you! I've learned many things from many different teachers, as well as studying videos and performances of Egyptian dancers. However, my main inspiration and most influential teacher has been Hadia.

  • thank you for posting also the lyrics :)

  • Oh my god, this is gorgeous. The dance, the costume, everthing. Absolutely amazing video! :D

  • Very Nice dance..love the movements This is the belly dance I love...not so much of this out there....very controlled movements Perfect!!

  • Wonderfull, you really depict the disappointed and idly waiting lover very well!! I like your other video's as well; baladi and saidi.

  • madame, what u are doing is not belly dance. u should see the videos of samya gamal! this is real belly dance. and i am so sorry

  • @glamournurse Well, I thank you for taking the time to offer advice and I'm sorry to hear you disapprove. When feeling emotion in Egyptian Dance, I allow my eyebrows to do as they will and keep the rest of my face soft. There are many things I would do to improve my dance in almost any circumstance, but I am quite pleased with how my emotions are portrayed in this performance. Alas, not everyone is going to enjoy every aspect of my dancing. I'm okay with that.

  • @Adishakti Maybe instead of just not smiling you you could have softened your face so that it looked like you were dancing with passion rather than looking like you were in pain? I understand what you said about it being about heartache, but you can still portray that feeling with a passionate looking face that lets us know you're still loving dancing but aren't you know.. looking like you're in pain. It's a little concerning to watch when you look like that :S

  • Congratulations because it's not that easy to dance on a Oum Kelthoum song!! You give so much feelings to your dance!!! good job!!

  • very slow .. you should follow the tempo sorry.. didn't like

  • wow. very nice
