In this talk His Holiness turns to one of his favorite themes: the importance of compassion. Far from being a uniquely Buddhist concern, the Dalai Lama explains why caring for others can be the basis for a rich and rewarding life for all people. Whether one is a Buddhist or not, whether one is religious or not, a concern for the welfare of others is just good common sense. The Dalai Lama has such a great mind-set. His philosophy might sound simple, but in practice can prove to be difficult. This man always gives me a moral boost when I need it. I’m glad he made an appearance on “Discover the Gift.” That documentary was so beautiful.
