@He101A So basically what you're telling me is that power hungry jerks had ALREADY taken over the government, despite there having been no private corporations. Doesn't that mean the existence of private corporations is independent of government getting taken over by power hungry jerks, which was kind of my point to begin with? Maybe we ought to be looking somewhere other than at private corporations when trying to find and remove the cause of evil.

@He101A Actually the Nazis were left wing (nationalist socialists), and Murdoch, Rove, etc. are right wing, which although also sort of fascist, are still VERY different.

If you draw a 4-quadrant grid of left on the left, right on the right, authoritarian on the top, and libertarian on the bottom, the tea party are the bottom center/right, and the Nazis are the top left. Opposites. Do your research before theorizing, please!

the tea party started out with good intentions, and sound reality. The problem is that many republican media whores jumped in and corrupted the message.. They fucked up a good thing. Sara Palin etc did more harm then good.

One thing is always the same throughout history. The fascist corporatists and militarists and banksters start trouble and screw everybody and they use religion and other bullshit to get small minded peasant mentality types to follow them and do their bidding. no different with the way they use the tea party and other groups now. @He101A Most of these Teabaggers are convinced everything was fine until Obama got in and crashed the economy by increasing welfare for blacks. This is why they keep railing on and on about believing in working for a living. They are convinced the Democrats are the Party of Welfare and the Republicans are the working man's hero that will put a stop to all of their tax money going to lazy blacks in the inner city kicking back and smoking crack while watching cable TV.

Yup.

Imagine if FOX "News" was around back then.

There would be a FOX "News" Alert that FDR was a cripple.

They would have round table discussions about how he was unfit to be our leader because he makes America look "weak". There would be doctors saying he was brain damaged complete with pictures of him in a wheelchair. Calling him a liar for deceiving the American People. Then they would rail about the rest of the media knowing about this and covering it up.

It took 30 years for big corporations to get back into the position of taking over the government. Now, with the help of the Tea Party, they are trying it again. Right down to the claims of "defending the constitution". They've even figured out how to game the system so that as the middle class loses power, they gain power. It's not that government has gotten too big, it that the middle class has gotten too small!
