A Guardian Films production for Consumers International, this investigative documentary exposes the unacceptable social and environmental conditions endured by pineapple-grower communities in Costa Rica... and why leading supermarkets in Europe must share the blame.

I hate it when I do something like use 'their' for 'there' - tired and didn't proofread. I wanted to mention three things that surprised me in this video. 1. There are much more chemicals going on those pineapples than I would have guessed. 2. The wage for 2 weeks was £149. 2. Nicaraguan migrants are doing much of the work. I'm not trying to make a point with this. I thought it might interest some reader to know what surprised me. (Greedy corporations do not surprise me.)

Costa Ricans are Americans. I'm from the USA and I watched this video. But their aren't too many Americans that will watch this. Of that you are 100% correct.

Well of course they're going to show the rural parts and the "campesinos," because that's where the pineapple industry causes the most problems. It wouldn't make much sense for them to show downtown San Jose, for example, because that's not where the issue is. I don't think it had anything to do with trying to portray the country a certain way, it just happens to be the area that's relevant to the issue. And let's be realistic, not too many americans are going to watch this anyway.

I don´t like this video because it only shows the poorest parts of CR, this is why americans leave the plain they wonder why we have buildings, roads or cars.

So! tell the world something that we dont know! CR pineapples issues so what!imigrants are always gonna get the worst slice, in CR,Europe or USA the europeans designer pants you wear are most likely made on a sweatshop, furcoat you wear many animals kiiled to make it for you, USA destroys cities to give its citizens a better well being. BY Costarican law there is a minimun wage and most have insurance so if anyone is not getting paid properly he can easily complain to the department of labor
