HDSLR monitoring solutions in the past have been less than ideal -- size, weight and powering have all created special challenges. The Marshall V-LCD50-HDMI has gone a long way in solving these challenges and, weighing in at just under half a pound, the unit lends itself to hand-held as well as studio configurations.

  • does it do any auto scaling when the camera(t2i, 5d) switches from 1080 output to 480 when it starts recording? Like the small HD DP6 does.

  • @videonevin

    The monitor will automatically scale.

Full screen mode will give you the best view from the 5D as the 16X9 mode squeezes top and bottom. Proportionally the picture size is identical between 1080 & 480. Keep in mind that neither format fills the entire screen like the 7D.

  • just get a 60d and call it a day

  • They say this monitor is optimized for the 5D. Will it work equally well on a Nikon D7000?
