Jason Lee Wilson, performs at the Smokin Hit Songwriter Retreat held at Jim Oliver's Smoke House atop Monteagle Mountain.
Scots-Irish, German, Swiss, Italian and Cherokee...no one is more American in spirit, word, or pedigree. Listening to his endless compositions, it is plain to see Jason Lee Wilson, born and raised in the hill country of southeast Tennessee, has stayed true to his roots. He has penned endless songs romanticizing the history and tradition of his own life, lives of his contemporaries and those long since past. In 1998, he formed the Cumberland Runners, a high energy rockabilly act that was to be the soundtrack for a growing car culture following in the Middle and East Tennessee, North Georgia, and North Alabama areas. He has such a diverse range of vocal style and dynamics that it has been likened to Dwight Yoakam, Johnny Cash, Ricky Nelson, Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Morrison, to name a few. One thing remains the same; he is unmistakably a true balladeer from the Southern Highlands of North America who sings what he knows.
Jason, why are you a dog serial killer?
