This is probably a better alternative to farmers growing/making biofuel rather than food. The people who buy the oils can decide to use if for food or for their engines, or both.

@Finnbar01 More. If we think that plants take from the envirement CO2 and use this to transform it in oil then this oil when is burned give back that CO2, but less than the plant took. So is much-much greener than clasic Diesel fuel. It is a little problem with this biodiesel: To produce it you need metanol(metilic alchool) 1:4. This is a bit of a problem because is made from...petrol oil.

@Finnbar01 There are 2 things but only one problem. First is a grate problem that the land is used to grow crops to produce oil instead of food. It is a problem but if we think that biodiesel can be made from used cooking oil or any other used oil than the problem have a plus then burning clasic diesel.

What he doesn't mention is that biofuels have wreck havoc on our enviroment. Millions of acres of land have being turn over to biofuel crops destroying natural habitat. Millions of people are starving because biofuels have increased food prices dramatically. The production of biofuels creates more CO2 than fossil fuels.
