We stand by our earlier comment, the point of which can be confirmed by anyone studying the contexts of the ancient "uncovering" or revelation. The overriding context is one of recurrent catastrophe. As before, so again.

An apocalypse (Ancient Greek: ἀποκάλυψις apocálypsis, from ἀπό and καλύπτω meaning 'un-covering'), translated literally from Greek, is a disclosure of knowledge, hidden from humanity in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception, i.e., a lifting of the veil or revelation. An apocalypse is a good thing. I wish people would quit using the word the wrong way like it is something bad.

What you've offered is a modern reinterpretation of the original meaning, taken from Wikipedia. In the original uses of the word APOCALYPSE, the "uncovered" revelation virtually always included world-altering or world-ending catastrophe. Doomsday and Apocalypse stood side by side, and there's good reason for this. As before, so again: the ancient catastrophe cast its shadow over all of human history, its symbols surfacing episodically as pervasive Doomsday anxiety.

21/12/2012. Another doomsday passes by, and almost everyone misses the real significance! Why did the ancients obsess with the heavens, and why do we continually invent yet more doomsday scenarios?

Apocalypsis means uncovering/revelation and is still used with the same meaning in modern Greek.

Catastrophe means a turn to the opposite, a great change and is still used in modern Greek but with the meaning of disaster

The right word for what you want to say is Cataclysm(Κατακλυσμός). This is the word we always used for "doomsday" and it actually means a great flood.

The Solar System we see today is radically different from the one our ancestors saw; and almost all major myths, worldwide, are describing the life and violent death (Armageddon; Ragnarok; etc.) of the longlived Saturnian Golden Age (The Otherworld) and the creation of the present Solar System (The Apocalypse - from the Greek meaning "The Unveiling": New Earth, New Heaven, New World). But they are not myths: they are true record of what our ancestors actually experienced, up close and personal.

I have often wondered about the double helix of our D.N.A & as a lay person when it comes to all things scientific. I have to say that if you look at the so called standard models of scientific theory taught in every school room across the globe you begin to see with recent events that one theory after another is thrown into doubt and another answer must therefore fit the question. Looking at the available options I am drawn closer towards the Theory of an Electric Universe & all that it entails

Thanks TBs, I am a recent convert to EU and the reformed sciences. I have been shaken and enlightened, and I owe you my thanks. I happen to believe that these planetary events were witnessed not by live humans but by our unconscious "memories" of the past. Channeled by shaman and priests, these cataclysms were told through religious texts and drawings. By what mechanism? Through the electric soul and its interaction with Birkeland Currents-shaped DNA. Just a a thought.
