I love that part of I-65 that you recorded. In my opinion, the Nashville area is the best part of the auto alley (I-65).

@FreewayBrent Wjat is an Hov lane restriction mean?
-

-

Great video. Thanks for the info. I could have watched it for much longer!
I'm coming to Nashville in September & want to hire a car, but I have no idea what it's like to drive in a foreign country. My license is valid, but surely I need to learn what your road signs mean and who has right of way, etc etc etc.
What is HOV? In the UK we have HGV, which is Heavy Goods Vehicle. We also have lanes that are restricted at rush-hour too. Love the skyline as you approach (but I will be flying in!)

Williamson County is one of the United States' best collection of suburbs. It truly is fantastic.

@Kyukanbun - High Occupancy Vehicle. Usually restricted to cars with 2 or 3 people (or more) inside, as well as buses.

What does "HOV lane" mean?

Nice Videos Brent, You have one of I-65 South coming into Nashville? I feel that's the best view of downtown. You should definitely get it at night.
I was pleasantly suprised too. Usually Jim covers the southern and eastern side. But I'm glad that Brent decided to come on thru. Excellent work, Brent. Please feel free to stop by in South Carolina or Georgia.

I have some other Nashville (and Memphis) videos to edit. :-)
I'm going to be meandering around the eastern U.S. and Canada for the next 2+ months, so expect *a lot* of videos from around the country in the coming months.

Great video! 5 stars :)
I always wonder why trucks don't stay in the rightmost lane... In Europe, trucks always occupy the right lane unless they are overtaking. They will move back to the right as soon as there is space to do so.

It depends on the state. Some states allow trucks to occupy the left lanes, assuming that they're keeping up with the flow.
Personally, I think it's safer for a truck to maintain a lane, rather than continuously changing lanes while approaching merging and exiting traffic. As long as they're keeping up with the general flow of the lane they're in, I'm okay with trucks occupying different lanes.

I should've also mentioned that yes, the left lane *is*, and should always be used for passing, only. I *do* have a problem with trucks occupying the left-most lane, if they're not passing other vehicles.
