A day after Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni blamed Uganda's opposition leader dr. Kizza Besigye for Thursday's incident by country police, a recuperating dr. Besigye came out to clear his name of the incident. Speaking from nairobi hospital where he is expected to remain for the next 4-5 days, the opposition leader maintains that his 'walk to work' protest was a peaceful one he will continue with until the country relieves its citizens of the current social-economic crisis that has seen the cost of living increase threefold.
almost all east african politicians have many things in common.one is they don't care about the common citizens who strungle to get a meal for a day.we can argue over nothing on the website but end up solving nothing.being rude when commonting will not solve your anger.

@africanchicaful - Agreed.... let's not fall for the old 'divide and rule' tactic which only benefits the people in power. These things tend to spread like a disease and before you know it we will have politicians in Kenya using pepper-spray against each other. Besides, I love Uganda!

@matawa08 Dude can you chill !!! We are all east africans and whatever happens to one of us affects all to some extent because we are allies in many ways. This is just one news report UPDATING people about regional affairs. As an east african Ugandan I would EXPECT Ugandan news to cover serious situations in Kenya or Tanzania or even the whole world...If anything, UMOJA is the key to all these problems you speak of. Good day.
