Duriong the time of the Shah of blessed memory - I agree with you 100%. But since Hummeiny & his followers got power, it was IRAN who turned against Israel. Believe me, if the fanatics go down and Iran renews relationship with Israel, Israelis would be very happy. (The part about Jews being treated well in Iran was, again, mainly in the times of the Shah).

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. When I say "Democracy", I mean a regime that votes its leaders AND respects the rights of other nations to exist do the same. On a technicality you are right, but in the true meaning of democracy - respecting the difference of those different from you - does Iran do that, with all its terrorist financing & with its call to "wipe Israel off the map"?

iran is a democracy, he was voted in office. persians are very nationalistic, EVERYONE in iran would fight incase of invasion. young, old, men, women, shia, sunni, christian, different tribes, everyone. i dont think jews are allowed to join the military, maybe that has changed.
