In many countries/locations that are technologically developing, large scale wired communication infrastucture is increasingly unnecessary. Being able to retrofit old infrastructure with power and create new infrastructure that is simpler, cheaper and more flexible is very exciting. Laptops are cool, but so is lighting an ancient structure with little to no impact.

I can see this not just in laptop but about every devices in your house. No more wires between the wall and your desktop computer and even your monitors. This would be very useful.
