http://www.ted.com Dr. Seyi Oyesola helped develop the "Hospital in a Box" to solve a few of the problems plaguing health care on the African continent -- distance between doctors, spotty power, lack of supplies. But solving the health crisis in Africa will take more.

  • Africans can redeem control over their land and resources by accumulating and ministering capital, organize industry catering to under-served [low -income i.e the global majority] markets by way of commercial enterprise in the form of :

Social Enterprise --(Social Programs that are turn into businesses)

Small and Medium Enterprise -- (Businesses that use a franchise model)

    Co-operative Corporation -- ( Integrates: credit unions, worker co-op and R&D)

In this way Africans can be self-reliant.

  • This guy is full of SH*T!!! BLAH BLAH BLAH

  • Are all the resources in africa therefore the wests alone? africa has enough resources for state of the art everything, its the west that has only finance (doing well at the moment) and technology which is easily transferable. resources lie in africa thats why the imf and world bank exist in the 1st place. populations decrease once the need for large families disappears, namely high mortality. u argue against yourself far too much to be taken seriously.

  • He is a pain...brags too much.

  • hope about you give the people jobs so that they can have an income to support themselves? Hello! nothing can be done....what a bad comment

  • don't look at Africa as a nation, look at the countries because all the countries in Africa are different, with different issues

  • for the amount of resources it would take to place a proper health care system in africa im betting a lot of donors would struggle to see the benefit. africa is still not a developed nation. the education and resources required to do this would most likely have to succeed into the next generation. depending on how its implemented the african people may not be receptive to it. this is not a small commitment and even though the potential for good is there, nigeria needs to take the first step

  • You're right - I apologize. If everything you suggest were to happen, the world can easily sustain an increase of over 80 million new people each and every year. After all, this isn't a small planet and this planet does indeed have infinite resources. The Earth can easily handle a population of 15 billion by 2050. My bad.

  • WoWGodMage, your logic is built out of 100% Euro-Western racism. You and the few millions like you are the real problem and road block to human development and survival. Your fear of so-called "Third World" population growth is the exact kind of fear which lead to the development of HIV/AIDS. You must understand that your logic brings mass death and destructions. Your logic destabilizes natural people-survival constructs and replaces it with dropping food from the sky, AIDS/HIV, and racism.

  • WoWGodMage, wrong! Actually, you're the one without a clue. You're more worried about you survival. Think about this. Imagine all the Euro-Western greed and labeling like "Third world" was eliminated; and all the secret mission to destabilize these so-called "third world" places was eliminated. Now imagine, all the Euro-Western biotech modified foods were eliminated and people can use their own land to feed themselves. Now imagine, IMF and Wold Bank eliminated. Guess what? 400 Million will live.
