Lucic just this year has seen her ranking rise from 240s to the 150s in a few months; she won a Challenger event, then qualified for Birmingham and reached R16, qualified for Wimbledon(!), playing Azarenka quite well on Centre Court, and then qualified for Palermo and reached R16. She's back on the WTA!

If Lucic had won this match her career would probably never had taken a stumble.

I think Steffi peaked in the QF against Venus who said at the time it was the best that she(venus) had played and lost. It was a glorious match with a slower Steffi still able to hit it out with the big guns.

I still miss her playing so much, personally I think she is the best tennis player ever! looking forward to seeing her at wimbledon!

Davenport had an easier time of it going into the finals.....darn it!!!!! Steffi just did not have enough gas left in tank that finals :-( I MISS HER
