The Lachrimae pavan was evidently a bona fide 'hit' of its age, around 1604. There are many settings for this piece from Dowlands hand. Most known are the Consort setting called 'Flow my teares'.
I love this music; the sadness, desperation and yet... hope for a better life. This is from me to all you out there, telling it's hope!
I am also proud to announce that this arrangements now is available for purchase/download at http://www.per-olovkindgren.com/ both as tab and sheet music

  • @TheEs379 Julian Bream played this exact arrangement of the tune to Stravinsky.

Wonder if he gets a cut of the royalties?

  • Used this video in research for my paper on Lachrimae. Thank you very much for your free interpretation.

  • Kind of sounds like Renaissance "Hotel California."

  • Tack så mycket för musiken. Det var mycket vaker. Spelar Ni luta samt?

  • Julian Bream played this piece to Stravinsky on a real lute.
