This is a CJM Corsair 1/5 scale and is 100" wide. It is Powered By a RCS 150 RADIAL 5 cylinder engine. This was the Maiden Flight, and the first landing it ever had. The landing incident wasnt too good, it bent the landing gear, cracked the wing, and broke the prop. It was Flown By Mark Goodin of the Paradise RC Flyers Hawaii.
Music: Battle of the Heroes, Star Wars Ep. 3 music.

  • 60 lbs. ouch,,, it looked like you were going fast enough to land,, but the 60 lbs. i didnt know until after i watched the video it weighed that much,,, well, between the 60 lbs.,, and what sounded like a windy day, the cards were kinda stacked against you,, and for maiden flites its probably best to be a little nose heavy instead of tail heavy,, I have the CJM P-47 102" wing span,, I was told mine would be around 50 lbs,, I hope i dont have the same problem,, NO MORE MUSIC,, ruins engine sound

  • @ToggleAA88 Yes, I know the music drowns out the radial. But, the CJM corsair was overall a heavy bird and was no fun to fly. So much so that my dad,(the one in the vid) has built another one from the Don Smith plans, and is currently flying it and having a ball! Especially since the new one weighs like 15lbs lighter! I'll get the video of the new corsair posted soon

  • bloody century jet landing gear! its crap!!!

  • @MrCoolcool666 Agreed

  • Whenever the wings start rocking, it is telling you that it is on the verger of stalling. Check out some 3D vids, in a harrier some planes wing rock alot because they are flying in a stalled position on the prop. Warbirds are not designed to do this and when those wings are rocking, give it some throttle.

Great video and filming hopefully you'll get her fixed soon.

BTW, please no music on rc planes - especially when they are radial powered.

  • @PC9JEFF As for the music, I am sorry, I made this a while ago, and after some hard drive problems I do not have the raw file for the vid anymore so I cannot fix that.

I do know that It was slow, and again I wasnt the one flying it, but the plane weighed upwards of 60lbs, making it very sluggish. The kit was so poorly made that there was tons of excess resin, etc when it arrived. So now there is a new one in construction, but from wood so it should save at least 15-20lbs on it.

  • @MrCoolcool666 robbart retracts are the way forward for me.good video tho just a shame bout the landing at the end.well done

  • My smaller corsair is vary control sensitive with the flaps down. it is vary easy to out of shape while on final.I always gas it and go around when the rodeo starts.

  • @Tjetfire Hey thanks for your reply. I hope your new one flies better than ever! I have flown some of the smaller corsairs and they are very pitch sensitive. Good luck on the new one - can't wait to see a video of it.
