The Vienna Improvisers Orchestra, initiated by Michael Fischer 2005, dedicates itself consequently to conducted instant compositions (real time compositions, structured by a director).
More than 120 musicians were involved til now, among them Austria's well known musicians in improvised music and jazz as well as musicians playing in classical contexts/orchestras and guests from abroad.
In keeping with its experimental and cross-genre approach, the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra cooperates with poets Gerhard Rühm (*1930, Wiener Gruppe), Gerhard Jaschke, Magdalena Knapp-Menzel, Semier Insayif a.m.o.
