I might add that Dennis Kucinich was saying the same thing at the time (in May 2007) Congress was arguing about war funding appropriations. In the first place, "Bush cannot veto (or attach a signing statement) to a bill if Congress does not send him a bill to sign." The "Power of the Purse" really does have teeth in it, if it is used as it was intended to be used. A simple (House) majority can prevent a bill from moving forward; Funding bills can only be initiated in the House, not the Senate.

Cowboy Logic: "If con is the opposite of pro,
then Congress must be the opposite of progress."

hopefully by 2012 or 2016 this country will be so screwed and fed up with the republicans and democrats that we can elect Gonzalez as president!

41 Senators is all we need to end the war.
The democrats are useless!
Vote Nader/Gonzalez!

A lot of people are enamored by Obama's rhetoric, but the reality is his voting record and his statements don't add up to whatever people wish he was. Better than McCain? Of course. Clinton? They are essentially the same, minus a few differences. Is this the best we can get? We need to go beyond voting for a president, with that being the extent of our political involvement.

Too many Americans have bought into the idea that we can't change things we just have to take what they give us.
Thanks to Nader and Gonzalez for at least trying.
You have my vote!
