Yes, you are so right! Duals might be in the future, but I would have to redo the frame and narrow the rear to make it right. I friggin' hate rear tires that stick out wider than the fronts by more than a tiny bit - just like the big rigs.

You are right thinking that way. In order for this to work, I had to do the math and this should work out well as I am using a 3.55 rear and but not the normal 27" dia tires. I am using 32" tires which bumps the effective rear ratio to 2.88. This keeps RPM's down and makes more work for the engine, but diesels are good with the low end torque - right? Besides, I drove it a little and it seems OK. It even takes off in 4th gear from a stop without much trouble.
