Growing up in their teen years during the great depression then hitting adulthood and living through World War 2, these are toughest men alive today. Love talking to them.

It's always great to hear stories from WWII soldiers, they are American hero's and were truly the greatest generation. I could only hope to become 1/10 the man Lt. Col. James N. Methven is/was. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

How can anyone dislike this story? Must be 3 of the japanese soldiers who did not know the war was over.

Japan was responsible for killing 30 million people in Asia with 20 million of them Chinese they are so cocky that they unlike the Germans who took responsibility Japan did nothing instead they hid behind the nuclear thing yes it was bad but burying children alive and using Indians as target practice is unforgivable they have to take responsibility even in their own country Ainu people face prejudice honestly such a disgustingly racist country but since their not white its all good pffft

@RedDeerGhostHunters lol it might be a little apparent after that many years and no fighting

@DeHerg Japan didnt have good communication equipment. But i guess i would have been a little fanatical if i was sent onto an island as a 22 year old boy. Filled with enemy troops. 30 years later without knowing anything about the fall of the Japanese empire. I can see the point from his view. The last thing i would was to re establish radio contact. Maintain radio Discipline so enemy forced coundlt find me.
