@helmuthoorn My ZX 1.4i is not nearly what I'd call economic. 10 L/100km in Portugal is just way too much. But it goes on, it's got a great top speed and a perfect balance. If I were to buy another car today, I wouldn't want anything other than that combination of comfort (better than my E class Mercedes) on the roughest roads, handling and sheer driving pleasure.

Have a Xantia 1.8i 16V from 2000 now.

Still not very economical, but a brilliant car to drive.

For the price of a Fiat panda you get the driving comfort of a Mercedes and the relyability of any Audi or Nissan.

One of the best kept secrets in the 2nd hand car market.

Probably one of the most underrated cars ever and a future classic.

@helmuthoorn I own three Citroens: a 3 door 1.9D ZX, a 1.4i ZX and a 1.7D C15 van. Even the van is a pleasure to drive. Time goes on, roads go by and they never break down.

True, but they have a serious drinking problem. Had one for 4 yrs. Most relyable workhorse l ever drove, but it was THIRSTY.
